Food for thought ....
So my sister, Melly sent me an e-mail ........
".....We're organising a christmas party for 80 kids this December and are raising funds to buy presents for all the children. If you know of anyone who would like to get their photo, logo or any other pic they want onto our website in return for a R50 gift sponsorship - please pass email this on. We have more info on our website at The Sunbeam Kids ..."
and it got me thinking .... 50 rand equates to £3-50/$6-50 ... that's what it costs to make a difference to one childs Christmas. Thought provoking isn't it ...... It struck me. I always get annoyed when visiting grandparents make the comment my kids have far too many toys and my first line of defense is..."when you compare them to other children they certainly do not have too many" but I think I have been using the wrong benchmark for comparison! My children are extremely well off in not only having toys to play with, they have an abundance of clothes to wear, food to fill their tums, a warm, comfortable home to live in, an opportunity to go to school and learn, ... but most of all they have a family who loves them very much!
PS I'm not sure what costs are involved in transferring money internationally but if anyone is interested in donating I will find out and let you know.

food for thought indeed Debs - let me know about trf dosh, perhaps if there are a few interested we could send the uk donation to you and pay just one exchange rate for the lot?
I think Ann's idea of a communal pot and one lot of exchange fees is a great one; I would like to contribute if this is feasible, hun :) xx
Please let me know how to contribute hun. Being able to make a small difference to a childs life is amazing 8-). Axx
